Young Adults

Audacious Veg work placements are a six week, part time placement for young adults who are interested in working outdoors. The placements combine a training placement at our cut flower and edible blossoms business, and support with career planning and life skills.

The 2016 Audacious Veg trainees have been working with Chris Yap, a PhD candidate studying participatory film-making and urban food growing. This film was made by the young adult trainees, telling the story of the project.

We are recruiting!

Recruitment is currently open for our 2017 young adult training programme.

The training programme is for 18-24 year olds who want to find out what it’s like to work outdoors in gardening or landscaping. Over the six weeks of the programme, you get:

  • Two afternoons per week of hands-on learning at our commercial garden, where you will learn gardening and light landscaping skills
  • A weekly bus pass to help to you get to and from the placement, to help with job hunting, and to help you access other volunteering and training opportunities
  • A mentor who will help you with career planning, job hunting and job applications
  • After successful completion of the programme, you can get referred to our progression partners: Streetscape, Gardens for All, and Vision Redbridge

Get in touch with Natalie S. on 0777 809 2570 or natalie@audaciousveg.org if you’d like to find out more about the programme.
